DSI, Inc.
The purpose of this project was to develop a web site that automates and
streamlines the processes and workflows involved in the ordering of auto parts
by DSI’s customers (auto dealerships) from suppliers. We created an ordering
system to facilitate auto parts ordering for customers and customer
representatives.
Customers can search for multiple parts online, comparison check the prices
offered by different distributors, order online and maintain a list of parts
normally ordered to streamline the re-ordering process.
The solution has an efficient inventory management system and allows
distributors to upload part number to the system in Excel Format. Advanced
features like account management, advertising credit, customer discounts, and
special pricing can be controlled via the Administrator Area of the site. Our
solution provides an efficient, user-friendly and intuitive online channel for
all four groups of users – auto dealers, suppliers, DSI CSRs and DSI Admin.
The areas of the application include Customer Section, Representative section,
Vendor Section and Administrator Section. The system is carefully architected
on an industry leading platform powered by Microsoft .NET technologies
including ASP.NET, VB.NET, XML and SQL Server database. Our solution is
scalable, robust and easy-to-use with excellent performance.
